You can tell her she is dead on in thinking that and it goes even further. I’ve gone over the comments on Lloyd’s video. A LOT were taken down, seen briefly but quickly removed. He has round the clock mods there.

There were several commenters who were puzzled about what Lloyd meant by “defamation”, meaning they hadn’t a clue as to what he’s been up to. There are many who are under the assumption that LE is this kind British guy with a wife and two cute daughters.

Virtually no one knew about the financials.

He’s controlling the flow of information to these people who are stumbling upon his channel. They are not in possession of all the information relevant to Lloyd. They undoubtedly make up the majority of his new converts today. This isn’t a case of patrons returning to him, but rather fresh POMOs and PIMOs who were convinced he was leaving so they decided to donate in order to keep his channel alive.

It was so blatant. He’s like Robin Hood in reverse - exploiting the poor to benefit the rich. There are so many comments on his video like this:

Imagine being so poor they cannot afford a $1 a month pledge. But this is the business model of Lloyd Evans. Many are from lower income countries like the Philippines.
He really doesn’t care about anyone or anything but himself and today was ample evidence of that. He’ll never be able to shake the lasting impression that he’s a grifter. His last bump lasted him two months so we know that there are some who are wakening up to the fact they are being manipulated as a source of revenue.

Lloyd played the last card he had and rallied the remaining troops. It was the greatest show on earth. And then it was over. As the last bit of confetti fell, it became clear to most that Lloyd Evans whored himself, his wife and Tibor out like they were a team of three hustling tarts in the shittiest dive bar in all of west Texas. He bought himself some more time and money to travel to the next con. More than a few innocents were hustled for some promised tricks they failed to turn. So the old-timers chagrined at the blatant con job they just witnessed. These hustlers are headed to the next town.

That’s what you just witnessed today. A classic hustle. Wasn’t even a good one but a hustle it certainly was.

A profile called #lloydgate on Twitter has been posting lots of older Twitter posts by Lloyd crying about financial matters, mostly trivial. I think these tweets provide an insight to the real Lloyd Evans.

That’s a good point. I’ve never seen someone argue so vehemently about not receiving a refund for £117 like that. He went on and on about it in public. What exasperates that situation is that it’s not like he was scrubbing toilets to earn the £117; it was donated to him. Also he was pulling in at the time €4K - €5K a month and £117 to him was probably the price of taking his wife and child to dinner in London, which he was complaining about staying an extra night in.

He tagged everyone whom he either blamed or felt they should be helping him - Qatar Airways, KLM, the Australian foreign dept, Aussie MPs, PayPal, etc…

I worked closely with him and certainly was of the understanding that he was on a tight budget. I think “tight” was probably more appropriate

This is key to understanding why Lloyd acted like he did last year in the aftermath. Not only did he feel personally betrayed and attacked, but he felt like he was being ripped off. His comparison of being “burgled at gunpoint” was an accurate description in his mind. If he was going nuclear over £117, one can only imagine how he felt when his forms had shown that he lost €69K last year in revenue when compared to 2021’s take. When he stated in the Patron video that he “panicked” when he sent out the begging tweet, the correct emotion to describe what Lloyd was feeling was probably fury.

He has convinced himself that he cannot be an activist if he isn't a "professional" one, by which he means that his activism work generates enough income for him --and his family, and Tibor-- to live comfortably.

He received €82K in revenue. We don't know exactly how that breaks down, but there are three possible streams for Ipsilon Media - YT ad revenue, Google ad revenue and Patreon. Book sales and merchandise I believe are funneled through JLE Publishing in the UK. That was £10K last I looked. So essentially, he has well over €90K of revenue he received through selling books and merchandise, ad revenue Google and YT sent him, and Patreon. And he told Andrew Gold and in other instances that Patreon was by far the largest income source.

If he wants to hire Tibor and Dijana, fine - nothing illegal about that. But he has €90K to work with, so figure it the fuck out. Hint: The more employees you have and the more they are paid, the less you will be compensated as the owner. If he can't afford them, then sack them (well, he can't fire Dijana) or something else has got to drop. He's well compensated enough to figure out issues such as staffing, salaries and purchasing/replacing equipment. If he has to lay Tibor off, then he needs to go back to what he was doing before 2020 and edit the fucking videos himself.

To take his payroll and equipment issues to the public via Twitter is unprofessional and unheard of. If he's not pulling in enough, then figure out a way to market yourself or improve your branding instead of playing the victim card and initiating bullshit lawsuits. His content and services provided last year took a huge dive, so I don't know what he's complaining about with salary shortages. Might want to make a few internal changes, how about it, chief? Deal with it privately and be a man, not a whiney little bitch.

See how it works? How people can be manipulated? It's all nonsense.

He’s been doing this for years. It started here over a decade ago with the ~~request~~ demand of $300 for that stupid survey subscription. Always makes it look like he’s doing everyone a service and it’s only fair he’s being reimbursed. I lost count of how many MacBooks he needed. I remember some chatter about needing a new one last year. The old ones are probably being used by his wife and daughter and are still quite functional. Why does he need a new MacBook? He does not do any editing. Shouldn’t Tibor need one? Does he make Tibor use his own equipment? Patrons have a right to know this.

And yes, he never misses an opportunity to express his gratitude toward the donating parties. This is a subtle manipulation tactic which is meant to solicit donations from other parties who are meant to feel like they should have donated as well. The same tactics WT uses when they for no apparent reason relate an anecdote about a child donating their lunch money.

What often gets lost in the shuffle is that he’s is already being funded for these purchases. €82,000 was taken in by Ipsilon Media last year in what was by his account a bad one financially. That’s not enough to purchase a MacBook, Ronin DGI Gimbal and his daughter’s haircut? Figure it out and purchase the MacBook out of that, don’t pay yourself most of it and then claim you still need equipment which is what he’s doing. This is what spoilt kids do. My brother did this all the time by volunteering to go to the market and get some milk, but spending it all on sweets and then coming back and saying it wasn’t enough and he needed more.

When Patrons pledge, they are effectively sending money to Ipsilon Media, care of Lloyd Evans. He decides how the money is distributed within the company, including his cut of the loot. He’s already demonstrated that he cannot be trusted with money.
